I hope this finds you well and warm – the weather has certainly taken a turn for the cold here in England.

It’s been a busy year at Banco Towers, with the release of the last two singles from ‘The 9th of Nine Hearts’’91’, with remixes by Mr C and Bennun&Healey, and ‘The Princess and the Sky Goat’, with remixes by Ornah-Mental and Andrew Heath – plus, of course, the 20th Anniversary Edition of ‘Big Men Cry’.

On top of that it’s been the busiest year so far for my Disco Gecko label with the release of (deep breath!) Sophie Barker’s sophisticated 3rd solo album ‘Break the Habit’ and it’s remix companion ‘LSA’, dr trippy’s latest dose of Punjabi Swamp Music ‘Vindaloopy’, Animat’s cinematic ‘How to be a Shadow’ and ‘Out of the Shadows’, Radium88’s superb ‘Perpetual Emotion Machine’, Dragonfly Trio’s dubby ‘Dragonfly Trio’, Simon Power’s eclectic ‘Reflections’, LO18’s brooding ‘Huima’ and not one, but three, titles from Andrew Heath – the free ‘Found . Assemble’, his live show with Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Christopher Chaplin ‘Triptych in Blue’ and his fourth, and possibly best yet, album for us, ‘Soundings’.
2018 is looking equally busy as we will be celebrating Disco Gecko’s 20th year of operations and to mark this I am putting together something rather special. I’ve also begun compiling the follow up to 2015’s ‘Strange-eyed Constellations’ collection as well as making good progress on some fresh Banco tracks. To keep up to date with Disco Gecko releases, please follow our label playlist on Spotify.
With the festive season approaching, the team at Disco Gecko have decided to run our free shipping campaign again: we are offering free shipping for all orders within the UK, and free shipping for orders anywhere else in the world if you order 2 or more titles. On top of that, we’ve decided to temporarily drop the prices on some titles to the bargain sum of £5.

This offer will run from now until December 19th and only applies to orders via the Disco Gecko webstore (ie. not Bandcamp). We’re pretty sure that we’ve now got it set up so that the free postage will occur ‘naturally’ but if the system malfunctions (as they’re wont to do), please don’t panic, but email us and we’ll refund you ASAP. Please also note that if you want to get your orders in time for Christmas, Royal Mail’s posting dates are below.

On top of this, I recently found some Nine Hearts tour t-shirts hiding in my store room, and have put them up for sale on Bandcamp. There aren’t that many left in either size, colour or style – to check availability, click the ‘Buy Now’ button and the menu on the pop up bit will show you.
I’m playing a solo live set at Totnes’s Unit 23 on December 15th , DJing at Glastonbury Calling on February 27th, and am currently booking shows for 2018 – I will, of course, update you on those as soon as they’re confirmed.
Also on the live front, Animat and Radium88 are playing for free tonight in Brighton at The Fortune of War, and tomorrow night at London’s Archspace – both shows are billed as a label showcase, and if you like your electronica live, quirky and downtempo, then I can heartily recommend attending!
